[RE] Drinking Snapple

Ever had Snapple before? Well, you should go try some if you haven’t already.
This is from Raymond Chiu. Snapple is a very, very good drink! As he said if you haven't try it yet, you should get some. Snapple is a tea and juice drink that has a lot of flavor in it. It was pretty good that schools were able to sell these drinks and the students liked them. Replacing sodas with healthier drinks was a smart choice, but Raymond did mention that Snapple started adding sugar. Its still delicious either way! I don't actually know if the school sells Snapple drinks, but if it does, I would buy one because its been a long time since I had one. Good flavors were incorporated in Snapple. There are tea drinks coming in diet or not, juice drinks, lemonade, and bottled water. One thing I found interesting reading Raymond's post was how Snapple drinks included a world fact under the bottle caps. I never realized that because I have no need to look under that cap. Snapple is doing great and if this keeps going, it could be the best selling drink ever!

When I was young, I always ask my parents to buy me Snapple. The most common flavor I buy is the no diet tea drink. It was packed with good flavors. Every time I opened one, I would savor that moment since it is delicious. I stopped purchasing Snapple drinks because I was tired if the flavor of it. So I began drinking soda and became unhealthy. Didn't regretted my choice because soda had lots of sugar and I was attached to its kind of flavor such as Coke, Sprite, or Sunkist. It doesn't taste the same as a Snapple, but it was an okay replacement. After reading and writing about this, I really want a Snapple drink!

[CE] EARTHQUAKE

Rescue teams are striving to reach many people believed to be trapped under rubble after an earthquake in eastern Turkey that killed at least 272 people and injured at least 1,300 people.
They added that 970 buildings collapsed in two cities in Van province as a consequence of Sunday afternoon's 7.2-magnitude quake.
Another earthquake strikes again, but this time in Turkey. It was in the city of Van in the Ercis district. This quake is pretty high. A 7.2 quake! If Alameda had that kind of earthquake, buildings would crumble and kill people just as what happened in Turkey. There were nine hundred and seventy buildings collapsed killing about two hundred and seventy two people and injuring one thousand three hundred people. It was a strong quake for having to that much damage. Rescue workers are currently on the move to find survivors. Eventually they did find over seven hundred survivors. They were able to so because they heard their voices using a listing device and it also helped locate them. This earthquake has caused panic in countries near Turkey and they better be ready if an earthquake comes.

If Alameda really had an earthquake that big, we will be doomed! Buildings will collapse and will kill many lives. It was like the other day during school. An earthquake appeared, but didn't do major damages. Another happened at night, but still nothing was damaged. That earth was about a 4.0 magnitude or less and didn't do anything, but if that quake was the same as Turkey's, we are definitely doomed. The school will fall, students and teachers will have a hard time getting out of the building, and Alameda will be in a tight situation. It was lucky that Alameda's quake wasn't high, but it was sad for Turkey since it did. Hope the survivors will have a safe home to stay in for a while.

[FREE] Haunted House

Every year here in Alameda, there is a haunted house sponsored by the Alameda Youth Committee(A.Y.C). So I'm in A.Y.C. and helped setup the place. Other clubs from Alameda and Encinal High School helped be part of it too. Each group creates a scene that would scare the visitors. The clubs had magnificent ideas. Alameda High School's Key Club and Leo Club participated. Leo club did Babies R' Us, and Key Club did Beauty Salon. When setting up, I saw there decorations and I must say it looks better than my group. A.Y.C have three groups. One is Petco, Disney Store, and last is Gamestop. I joined the Gamestop group since I don't see how to scare people when your in he Disney group. For Petco, well its okay, you could make scary animals. Other scenes include Blockbuster and Food Court. Making it scary its gonna be challenge since it requires a lot of hard work.

I think our group is a fail. We don't agree well with each other. One group member thought of how to scare the people, but another one thinks its a bad idea. So we arranged it a little better to make it terrifying. We only have one days left before the event starts. Our idea is a zombie horde attacking the visitors. But come and see how we did. The events are only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays over at South Shore next to the Spirit Store. For Friday October 21 and 28, its starts at 6:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. For October 22, 23, 29 and 30, its 2:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. Kids under 17 pay $4 and adults over 17 pay $7. It's really fun to go, I only went to this kind of haunted once, and it was spectacular, hope this one is too!

[RE] Cartoon Comics

This is like my second comic website that I had read in my life. The one thing that I love about this website is that it takes the first, original cartoon shows ,such as, Samurai Jack or Powerpuff Girls, and do a crossover when they are like a couple years older. The thing that intrigues me the most is how the artist combine the traditional american cartoon style and anime style.
Alex Lau and I like to read this type of comic. Its very similar to manga. Getting cartoon shows and turning them into comics is a unique idea. Its unique because the author is taking many shows and transforming their styles different from the television series. The author also does a crossover which makes it fun. In the actual television series, they wouldn't do much crossovers, but with this comic, cartoon characters are meeting other characters and would learn about them. Like Alex said, the artist combine the American cartoon style with Anime style. Doing this transformation gives the viewers a different look and are comparing to the actual shows. I would recommend this to everyone since they can see the difference and learn the amazing storyline.

I started taking an interest in this when my sister was reading this. I was in the fourth grade and looking at what she was doing. She was reading cartoon comics! I was amazed by it and I had to find the website for this. She told me and I started reading it everyday. Starting from chapter one to the current one took forever. Eventually I caught up and waited for the new ones. By the time I was in seventh grade, I had stopped reading this because I forgot what the website was called. Last year I remembered it and returned to reading it. There were new comics out and new pages of the old comics. I quickly caught up to it and now I'm still reading it. I only read three of these comics: Powerpuff Girls, Sugar Bits, and the Grim Tales. These are may favorites since it talks about the cartoon shows I watched before and the artwork is very good. The link to the comic is this sentence!

[CE] Animals Gone Wild

Dozens of exotic animals, including tigers, lions and bears were let loose on Ohio farmland by their owner before he committed suicide, sparking a shoot-to-kill hunt in which 48 of the wild beasts, including 18 endangered Bengal tigers, have been killed.
So many exotic animals were killed in Ohio! From reading it, I don't understand why the man suicide. Was he tired of his life? Before his suicide, he released the animals from the farm. Over forty animals were released and entered the city. Schools were closed and homes were locked because of the animals behavior. Animals included were tigers, bears, lions, primates, and many others! Police have killed forty-eight of the fifty-six animals and the animals are buried on the farm. Animals running around has put fear in the citizens. Luckily the police handled it in time and no humans were hurt except Terry Thompson, owner of a farm that the animals came from. Having to be in this situation will be bad because I will be terrified if the remaining eight animals demolished my apartment door and kill my family, hope everyone can survive.

Having said that, why were the animals released and how come Terry Thompson suicide? He released the animals, and then killed himself. That's so messed up! I'm not sure why he would do that, but did he have to released the animals? No! He could have kept them at the farm were its safe from anyone else. Letting them out was a terrible idea since so many animals were killed. Police officers killed a lot of them, can't they just fire one of those darts that make them go to sleep? It would better because they won't be dead. Wonder what will happen Zanesville and the remaining animals, hope they are all right!

[FREE] The show Wife Swap

Ever watch that show Wife Swap? If you have is it great, because I think its great. I have never watch Wife Swap on television before. I started watching on youtube. My first episode was the King Curtis episode. The reason I think Wife Swap is good is that it teaches other families a lesson. They take two wives from opposite families and swap them. By opposite I mean their lifestyles. They would swap a messy wife with a clean wife, or something like that. During week one they follow the manual and experience how they live. After the first week, the swapped wives make their own rules so they know how the other family feels. I have only seen a couple of episodes and having the wives make rules, has changed the families lifestyle. That's why I like this show. It teaches others a new lesson that they normally won't do. Its so inspirational.

What lead me to watching Wife Swap was a scene from the King Curtis episode. It was about Curtis running away(but came back later) because the wife "Joy" tossed  away bacon and other fatty foods into the garbage. After watching the whole episode of this, the families did change their lifestyle. Joy's family was originally a healthy and unsocial family, but that all change thanks to Curtis' mother whose name I don't know. She taught the father to have more fun with the kids and eat other foods beside vegetables. Curtis' family did start eating vegetables, but Curtis still rejects eating them because he considers them disgusting. Curtis there is nothing wrong with vegetables, they are pack with many minerals and vitamins. So consider watching Wife Swap, it could change some of your bad habits into good ones.

[RE] Halloween is for Everyone

I'm probably too old to still trick-or-treat and stuff but it's so fun. I know, I'm hella immature.
Gigi Zeng, you are never too old to go trick-or-treating and there is nothing immature about it. Getting candy and dressing up in a costume is what kids like to do. Kids enjoy receiving delicious candy from strangers and dressing up. No one is too old for it, I mean I still want to go trick-or-treating. I just go for the fun of it and to receive candy. I need candy to give me energy. I really want to go trick-or-treating again. Not only do I get candy and dress up, but I can go past my bedtime. Though I will be tired the next day. The last time I went was probably four years ago. During that year, there were kids at my age that went trick-or-treating. I scored a lot of candy though, but my mom throwed some away, I was furious with her. All that remained for me was chocolate. But its still delicious and I'm happy that I got candy that my parents won't buy.

Usually my family doesn't celebrate Halloween. We don't buy pumpkins, decorate our apartment, or even buy candy since no one ever comes to our place for trick-or-treating. The only time I celebrate Halloween would be at school. Doing fun activities taht would include drawing pumpkin designs or writing a fictional story relating to Halloween. It was pretty fun when I did it in elementary school. I also like to point out that I have never seen someone trick before on Halloween. When kids say trick-or-treat, they receive candy. Never have I seen adults not giving away candy and having the kids pull a prank on them. But I would like to see or hear a prank being done on Halloween.

[CE] Man wielding a Bomb

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian man accused of trying to blow up a bomb in his underwear aboard a US airliner on Christmas Day in 2009, has pleaded guilty to all charges against him and warned the US of "a great calamity".
Wow! When I saw this, the man is like crazy. Having a bomb placed on your underwear is bad. When you sit down, it could activate. Once its activated, he dies along with the passengers and the plane crashes. A bad guy having a bomb is worse than having a gun. A bomb kills people in certain range, while a gun kills one person. When he tried to ignite the bomb in his underwear, it killed him. "It malfunctioned and burned him," a witness said. Even though he is a criminal, he shouldn't have died. If the cops have discovered this earlier, he wouldn't have died and he would be in jail. The passengers were lucky they weren't in harm, but they witnessed something that man nor women should do, and that is having a bomb.

What I don't get is that why he even has a bomb, and worse its sewn in his underwear. Having a bomb near your butt is dangerous. When you trigger it, your gonna die, so why have it in your underwear. Its really stupid. But why does Abdulmutllab even have a bomb. Is he selling it to criminals for money or drugs, or maybe he is using it to scare people so he can get what he wants. Either decision is horrible. From reading the article it said he has one to avenge the deaths of innocent Muslims. So basically he is doing this for revenge. If you want to get revenge, don't use a weapon, talk to the government or something.

[BC] Living to the Fullest

When Steve Jobs died, people want him to remember his achievements. His advice of living life to the fullest and making choices of living, is pretty inspiring. Well, I agree with his advice. Its pretty good since its giving yourself a reason to live. By living to the fullest, you can possibly achieve something. Steve Jobs always try to make things possible. He made the ipod and evolved it into better style. Pretty amazing! He was able to do this because he's living life to the fullest and not giving up on his dreams. He made the choice of being an inventor and you can be too if its your dream. Someday you will be able to accomplish that dream of yours, and all you have to do is not give up on yourself. If your giving up, then your desired dream would be for nothing. So try to do something people will remember of you when you die, otherwise they will think your a nobody.

If I were to start using his advice, then my life would change. Each day I would set a goal and complete it. If its incomplete, then I would be sad. When Steve Jobs founded the Apple Company, he set up a goal for himself. That goal could be to make everyone happy of his inventions. He wasn't afraid of making mistakes and he wasn't scared that people won't buy his products. He is certain that his inventions will be great. I could someday be like Steve Jobs. I would start something and finish it until I have satisfied everyone. I won't back down or give up because I am not a failure.

Steve Jobs' advice has made me live better. An advice that I heard that was similar would be, "what do you want to do today?" This is most likely a question, but can be an advice also. How? Well when people come up and ask you this, they want to know what your doing today. This is similar to Steve Jobs quote, "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" Its similar because he is asking himself what he wants to do and that question/advice that I pointed out is like that. You want to do something that makes you happy and not sad. Make choices that you can do and don't push yourself into doing something that you can't.

In conclusion, Steve Jobs has made an impact to the world. For founding the Apple Company, people will  surely remember him of his amazing ideas of the itouch or ipod. His advice on getting people to live until you die, has change some peoples way of living. For example, I always thought I can't do something and would give up, but after reading his advice, it kind of inspired me. And now I'm living the dream of being alive. So follow Steve Jobs' advice and it could change yourself into a better person.

[FREE] A Show about School

One show that was really amazing, but stop airing was a show called: Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. You may have heard of it and watched it before. I watched this since I was little. It helped me survive the entire time when I'm in school. Very useful tips were given. The main characters Ned Bigby, Jennifer "Moze" Mozely, and Simon "Cookie" Nelson Cook attend middle school and try to do the impossible. This show is very weird. Their friends are strange, the janitor befriended them, and the staff are all different in their own ways. One friend of them is called Coconut Head, because his head is shaped like a coconut. The janitor likes to have fun and chases a weasel within the school. And the staff, well one teacher stays home and uses a monitor to teach kids, and the vice-principal acts spiteful. Mainly the show talks about how to survive in school and interacting with the world.

I miss this show a lot. The advice Ned gives were very useful. One advice he gave was always be organized or else things could be disastrous, like unable to find your homework. I'm just guessing on this advice since I don't remember any others. Not only this show gives advice, but it also shows you fun. Fun things include what to do for your community service or what to do for a fundraiser. Pretty funny and smart, but they always get caught for doing bad things. Mostly this show influenced me to go to school. Shocking isn't it! It made me so happy and whenever this show would air again, I would always try to watch it.

[CE] Runaway Stranger

A malodorous and hirsute man robbed a woman as she jogged Saturday on Palm Drive near El Camino Real, the Stanford University Department of Public Safety reported.
The robbery took place at noon, when the man bumped into the woman and forcibly took her keys and cellphone, campus police said.
Having to know about this is a tragedy. The action taken place here was over at Stanford University. This robber bumped into her and took her stuff. She no longer has a cellphone and her keys. Its a good thing she notified the police because now everyone would know who this man is. He is a middle-aged tall man wearing a black shirt, red basketball shorts, athletic shoes, and a baseball cap. Also with a stud earring. Now that everyone know how this person looks like, people are beginning to watch out for anyone with this particular dressing.  At least this man didn't take anything serious. Sure your keys and phone are important, but since no money or I.D. was taken, it should be alright. This woman should not freak out and be calm about it because the police are searching for this man.

The victim here should have try to defend herself. Even though your scared, try to stop that robber. Chase after him or attack him. Calling the police after the event is not what I would do. If a robber came and try to take my stuff, I would attack him and yell police so the citizens around me can go get help, if there is no one to help me. If he got away I would chase him until I am unable to go anymore. Everyone should be cautious and should take care of their stuff. You wouldn't want a stranger to break into your home and steal your documents, and you certainly don't want someone to kidnap your children. Plan ahead so you would know what to do. In conclusion, watch out for the man that was describe and call the police if anything dangerous as this happens.

[RE] A College Course

So this year I am taking four courses in high school and one course at the community college. This special part-time enrollment in a college class is a unique experience that I am happy to take with me to university next year.  I have taken several college courses before, but this is the first time I am taking a course during the academic school year.
Christopher Lam really wants to get into a good university! Having taking a college course during high school sounds so hard and impossible to me. But to Chris, its easy. I have never met anyone anyone taking a college course while there in high school. Most people would take a course during summer. The class he is taking is Calculus three. He really enjoys being in that class! What really amazes me is that he doesn't complain or regret making his choice on this. If I were to be like him, I would immediately fail. I already have to handle my classes in high school and taking a college course would seem too much work. Now if I were a senior like he is, I still won't take a college course. Sure you get a free period in school, but won't you get tired? This guy right here is what I call an overachiever.

I once took a college course, and that was during this summer. My friends and I were planing to take a writing class, but apparently something happened. We took the test, met the counselors and figured out there was no more room. They say we have to go there the first day and the teacher will talk about it. Once roll call was taking, there were people missing. It was an opportunity for us, but then something came up. During break my two friends say they quit because they don't have the energy to take the class. I was mad cause I would be alone, but they persuaded me to leave also. Eventually we all left in the middle of class, didn't tell the counselors, we just walked out. I regretted doing that, but I got over it since I found community service to do, which is All-Star Academics. Well I learned my lesson, never take a college class unless you have the energy to do so.
